Getting a floor survey can save you thousands of dollars and should be done on every project getting new floors. Especially for new tile, where tile is getting larger and grout joints are getting smaller, the tolerances required can be dead flat to 1/8" over 10 feet. (This is usually set by the manufacturer, designer or architect. Billing is done at (.10/psf for a 9ft grid), (.12 for a 6ft grid), and (.15 for a 3 ft grid.) A survey can help sell a job or to help visualize the contours and elevations of the project and can also help with setting stair risers as well as door heights in critical builds, and in some cases sloping is required to save in material costs and, or constraints in build heights. Our surveys can be 3, 6, or 9ft elevation grid and our software accurately gives a bag count based on a good, better best scenario.
